The Dingle Way

dingle-way-map

The Dingle Way leads right into Annascaul Village from Camp via the beautiful Inch beach. The diversity of different landscapes is the why the Dingle Way is one of the most  popular trail trails in Ireland. It is traditionally walked in a clockwise direction starting in Tralee, but a lot people opt to take a bus to Camp and start from there. Visit www.dingleway.com for a complete trail description

Annascaul Walks hillwalking club, Co Kerry

Boot LogoAnnascaul walks is a small friendly walking club in the heart of the Dingle Peninsula, where brooding mountains, stunning coastlines and fast flowing rivers provide magnificent year round walking. The club embodies the adventurous spirit the friendly humour and the co-operative nature of Annascaul’s famous son, Tom Crean the antarctic explorer.

The club holds two scheduled walks each Sunday, meeting at Hanafins bar on the main street. We extend a warm welcome to individuals and clubs of all ages and abilities to join us on one of our walks or to follow one of the many trailed walks in the area.

Inch Beach

Inch Beach by night

Inch by night Inch Beach is one of the most picturesque beaches on the Dingle Peninsula in Co.Kerry and is a really beautifull place to learn to surf. It is a blue flag beach that runs literally for miles. Three miles of sandy beach, for bathing, surfing, sea angling. Inch Strand was chosen by David Lean as the beach location for “Ryan’s Daughter”. The film “Playboy of the Western World” was shot entirely at Inch.

Inch is roughly 30 minutes from both Dingle and Killarney and 45 mins from Tralee, But more importantly only a 5 minute drive from Annascaul.

Slea Head Drive

The most westerly point in Europe (maybe)

We always tell people the best time to drive to Slea head is in the evening. This is so for a few reasons. The traffic is quieter (very little coaches and heavy vehicles. Also the long Irish summer evenings (Its bright up until about 10 most evenings these days). Watching the sun set on Dunquin pier is just magic.
